Help Mirfield Petanque Club add two more pistes in Memorial Park to allow more membership
Why this petition matters
Mirfield Petanque Club in Memorial Park is a popular and well attended social sports venue. Membership of 65 local people has rapidly outgrown the number of playing terrains the club currently has (8) and therefore new member applications has for the last two years, been curtailed. We need to build two more terrain pistes, so that we can once again allow more people within the Kirklees area a chance to join this popular sport and friendly club.
We have an opportunity to benefit from money allocated to Kirklees for the specific improvements to facilities within Mirfield Memorial Park. Part of this money would be more than enough to finance the building of a new terrain of two pistes and surrounding footpaths. This would enable many more local and Kirklees residents to join our club and benefit from the gentle exercise the sport of Petanque offers. It is a sport played out doors in all weathers and helps individuals to improve their physical and mental health and enjoy much needed social interaction.
Please support us in this petition by completing the form and returning it to allow us to increase the size of our terrains to accomodate more local residents. It not only allows more people to play Petanque, it is a valuable asset for the future.
