About this ebook

The woman is kneeling at a gravestone, her hair blowing in the breeze, a bunch of wilting yellow daffodils on the grass beside her. Her eyes are fixed on the ground and her mouth is parted in a silent prayer. But the wax dripping from her cold blue lips means it’s already too late to save her…

On her first day back with the Denton PD after a major trauma, Detective Josie Quinn is on the hunt for a missing woman, Krystal Duncan, the mother of one of five children killed in a devastating school bus crash. Hours later, Josie finds Krystal’s body beside her daughter’s grave, her lips sealed together forever with wax.

Forensics match the wax to one of the candles lit in memory of the sweet little souls who died, giving Josie her first lead to a support group made up of the parents who lost children in the crash. Painstakingly dissecting the lives of these grieving couples, it’s clear to Josie that each of them is hiding something about the day of the accident—but whose secret is worth killing for?

The case takes an agonizing turn when the body of another young mother is found near the site of the bus crash. Someone connected to the accident is out for revenge. As the members of the support group are picked off one by one, every second counts for Josie to save the lives of these loving parents who have already suffered the loss of those they treasured most…

An absolutely gripping and totally unputdownable crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. Be warned, this book will keep you up all night! Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.

Her Deadly Touch is a solid, well written who-done-it. There is a jumble of characters in this one, which makes it a little difficult to keep straight. Enjoyed the storyline and that Josie is a detective who never gives up!

Her Deadly Touch by Lisa Regan Detective Josie Quinn #12 Grief’s impact is not the same for everyone. This story deals with a number of people experiencing grief and how they are coping…or perhaps are not coping so very well…and one who has decided to kill rather than process through emotions in the normal way. Included in those grieving is Josie and four months has not chipped the ice away as she begins to work again. What I liked: * Josie: smart, complex, backstory told in previous books sounded horrific, twin, newlywed, first husband dead, detective, intriguing * Noah: Josie’s husband, police lieutenant, has suffered loss, loves and understands Josie, is there for Josie and the team, perfect for Josie. * Trout: dog of Josie and Noah – a good boy * The various members of the police team, getting to see them again, and watching them solve this case together. They are there for Josie and for one another. * The police procedural aspects of the story * The premise for the story – though sad – and how it played out * The writing * How the story was paced, and tidbits eked out * The secrets that came out – not nice but pertinent to the story * That the serial killer was eventually found and taken in * The new chief…may be growing on me * How Josie, toward the end, began to work through the loss of her grandmother * Knowing there is another book to look forward to What I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like * The loss of the lives of innocent children * The warped thinking and actions of the killer Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in the series? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4-5 Stars

This new installment of the Josie Quinn books will not disappoint! The start of the novel finds Josie continuing to try to deal with the death of her beloved grandmother. She is feeling a lot of guilt and keeps playing the "What if?" game in terms of what she could have done differently which wouldn't have resulted in her grandmother's death. It turns out that her ability to play the "What if" game will be an integral part of solving the most recent slew of murders that are taking place in her town. The way the mystery unravels feels very different than in past novels but in a new and refreshing way that reflect where Josie is at emotionally. As usual, Lisa Regan has crafted an enjoyable mystery that will pull you into all the mayhem!!!
