About this ebook

She held her baby in her arms and she knew in that moment that he’d be coming for her. She couldn’t tell anyone her name, she couldn’t let him find her. She had to keep her child safe.

In the summer heat at the Craven County Fair in rural Pennsylvania, Dr Leah Wright is shocked to find a pregnant woman hiding from view and in labor. Leah manages to deliver the baby safely, but the woman won’t reveal her name. She's terrified, running from someone, and days later both she and her newborn son go missing…

Desperate to save them, Leah turns to Detective Luka Jericho for help. Eager for Leah’s help with a complex case of his own, Luka asks Leah to interview the widow of a man who has just been murdered. Soon they uncover a shocking connection between the two cases: the widow’s lawyer, a local minister, Reverend Harper, was spotted driving the missing mother away from hospital. Is this the man she was so afraid of?

When Reverend Harper refuses to talk, Luka and Leah turn to the only person who he might speak to: his daughter and Luka’s newest detective, Naomi Harper. But Naomi’s childhood in her father’s stark white house up in the mountains was more painful than Luka and Leah could ever have imagined. Is it already too late to save the woman and her baby?

Fast-paced and utterly gripping from the very first chapter, Save Her Child will keep you up all night. Fans of Karin Slaughter, Kendra Elliot and Tess Gerritsen will love New York Times bestselling author CJ Lyons.

This is the third book in the Jericho and Wright series and I think I liked this one the best. This story has Jericho’s team investigating two different murders, which is probably more realistic than many books that have teams using all their resources for one crime. As well, Leah stumbles upon a woman at the local fair ready to give birth. She goes with her in the ambulance and delivers her baby. The woman is terrified of something and will only tell Leah that her name is Beth and that someone is after her. When Beth and her baby disappear from the hospital, Leah asks Jericho to help her find the them as the baby could have a serious infection that could kill him. Naomi Harper, newest member of Jericho’s team is the lead on the investigation of the dead black woman, but is called in to help in the murder of the man who runs the investment group and charitable trusts. All comes to a head with Naomi’s father a critical lead in the investigation. Wow, this was a non-stop story with all sorts of things happening. There were twists, clues and ties that had me guessing all through this story. he novel is told from three points of view, Luka, Leah and Naomi and I really liked that Naomi took a major spot in this investigation. We learned about her past and her family with made her very sympathetic and human to this reader. It also showed how even with all that happened in the past, she had a great deal of integrity and chose the right path. Leah’s and Jericho’s personal life was also included in this one, and it was Nate that had a key piece of evidence to help crack the case. Although it seems like there was more than one plot, things come together in the end. The major story is one of greed, fraud, betrayal, lust, and secrets. There is also the issue of religious leaders and how some of them have a god complex that makes them think they are above the law. The Jericho and Wright series are heart pounding, twisty, crime thrillers that will have an armchair detective smiling with glee. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend you read them all to get the backstories and because they are that good. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating and opinions shared are my own.

4.25⭐ Save Her Child the third book in the Jericho and Wright series is an intriguing read. That brilliantly blends three storylines together, including the possible suicide of an upstanding member of the community, the beating of a young girl and a terrified woman who goes into labour at the state fair and refuses to provide Dr Wright with any details of who she is and where she came from. And it was enthralling to read. Furthermore, it really kept me guessing and with the introduction of new VCU team member Naomi Harper and plenty of twists I was hooked. And I really can't wait to read more from these characters in the future. Would recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

DS Luka Jericho works in the Violent Crimes Unit. Dr. Leah Wright is the new head of the Crisis Intervention Center and their paths cross quite often. While at a fair, Wright finds a woman in a field who is getting ready to deliver a baby. Wright gets her to the hospital in time for the delivery. The woman will only give her first name, Beth, as she is terrified that someone will find her. When Wright returns the next day, she finds that Beth and her baby have left the hospital. Jericho has his hands full as well. A man has supposedly committed suicide, even left a note. But Jericho has a gut feeling that this was murder, especially after interviewing family, friends, and all of them had a motive to kill him. An ex-DEA officer even shows up with more information showing that the man wasn't exactly who be purported to be. How do these two cases connect? A widow's lawyer, Reverend Harper ... father to one of Jericho's team.. was seen driving away with the missing woman and baby from the hospital. Is this the man Beth was afraid of? When Reverend Harper refuses to talk, Luka and Leah turn to the only person who he might speak to: his daughter and Luka’s newest detective, Naomi Harper. Well written, this police procedural is full of twists and turns, action is non-stop. The characters are all deftly drawn. Naomi Harper is a new character, a little on the abrasive side. It's a fast-pace leading to a riveting conclusion. Although 3rd in the series, this is easily read as a stand-alone, however, I do recommend reading in order. Lots of hidden gems make this an exciting series. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
