About the artist

Carly Crow, M.S

Welcome to Corvid Illustrations. My business' name is inspired by my last name mixed with my love of birds. Corvid is a common jargon word when ornithologist refer to Corvidae, a bird family that houses ravens, jays, and crows!

I earned my Master of Science in Biology in July 2022. My passions in science are birds and parasites with a heavy streak of conservation ecology.

My goal in my in my artwork is to capture and artistically convey all details of my subjects. No matter if my subject is an insect, a life cycle, or a pet, I apply the same intensity of attention to detail to all my work.

I am currently open for all Scientific Illustration work. Please visit my Scientific Illustrations page for more information.

In addition to scientific illustrations I draw highly-detailed pet portraits. These are commission based with limited slots. Please refer to my Pet Commissions page for more information.

Why bother with an artist?

Let's face it: Stock photos do not have what you're looking for

Science Background

With a B.S in Ecology and a M.S in Biology I can comb literature quickly to research your desired topic. My artistic abilities allow for me create a beautiful illustration than can enhance the communicability of your research.

Dedicated to Detail

My art style is  called "photo realism". I strive to capture as many details as I can. This skill set allows for me to accurately depict identifying features of bones and animals. Coupled with my scientific training I am able to communicate key features with ease.

Custom Work

Your poster abstract or grant proposal can have the leading edge with highly communicative, custom art of depicting key elements of your research.

Your pet can be forever remembered with a beautiful portrait. A perfect gift for any loved one with fuzzy children.
