Hi there everyone! I’m excited about today’s Altenew Plentiful Patterns release – dies and stencils galore!! I have several fun projects to share with you, so grab a cup of tea and settle in. And if you, didn’t land here first from Therese’s blog, head on over to the start of the blog hop at the Altenew blog. There’s details on a giveaway and the full hop list at the end of this post so stay tuned.

For my first card, I’m featuring the Bountiful Butterflies Builder Stencil set and coordinating dies.

These are a set of stencils that create a beautiful butterfly background, as well as enabling each butterfly to be individually colored. Three dies cut out a fully open butterfly and two closed wing butterflies. I created a really bright background, blending the butterflies with Fresh Lemon and Fuchsia, letting them overlap a little. I also used a gold gel pen to outline each butterfly. For the background I used Turquoise to really make the butterflies pop.

I blended two separate butterflies in the same way and then die cut them out. I mounted them either side of this fun sentiment (from the Doodled Triangles stamps set) with foam tape, and then added a few Antique Gold sequins to finish.

My next card features a couple of new dies in this release, and one in particular is a MUST for your stash – the Mix & Match Frames set. It has several different types of frames that all work together separately or on their own to add interest to your cards. I die cut the frames from Spicy Yogurt cardstock. I mounted them with foam tape onto a card panel of Spicy Yogurt, backing the smaller frames with gold mirror cardstock.

The focal image is the new Itty Bitty Flowers layering die set. I die cut all the pieces from the New Purple Gradient Cardstock, with the darkest for the stem. I adhered them all together with liquid glue and adhered them to the card base. (I highly recommend tweezers here as it’s a little fiddly – they are itty bitty after all!) I finished with a simple stamped sentiment mounted on foam tape, and added some purple jewels to the flower centres!

My next card features a fabulous layering die is HUGE – it’s the Pattern Motif die set. You can cut this down so many ways on an A2 or smaller card for different looks (or just create a big card to fit it all on!)

I die cut the bottom layer from a pale sky blue cardstock, and the the top layer with Warm Sunshine cardstock, and adhered them together. My backgroud uses the deckle edged die from the Mix & Match Frames die set cut from white and mounted with foam tape. I then adhered the Pattern Motif over the top with foam squares, trimming off the excess.

The sentiment is from the You Matter die set which features a layering You die, and then tons of bar strip sentiments that match. I die cut the You and ‘Are Loved’ from glossy black cardstock, and also layered them on top of Jet Black cardstock with glue then popped over my card on foam squares. I finished with a few silver dots to embellish. I did trim off the scroll on the Y but you can also leave this popping off the edge for fun!

My final card features the Illusion Hexagons stencil. This is an awesome geometric style pattern that can be the star of the show on a clean and simple card. I ink blended in random places Dusk, Sapphire, and Fuchsia, letting them overlap and blending to get deep colors.

Before lifting the stencil, I overlaid with an iridescent glitter paste and set aside to dry. I layered the You from You Matter, using white and navy cardtocks. I also die cut the ‘Matter to Me’ from Navy and overlaid a white panel to peep through. I added a few silver dots and called it done!
