Hi Everyone! It’s Altenew Craft-A-Flower release time! Gorgeous floral layering dies that produce an amazing end result with just a little glue and cardstock! This month’s its the turn of the Dendrobium Orchid! Quite a mouthful, but a beautiful flower. You should have arrived here from LauraJane’s stop, but if not, head to the start of the hop over on the Altenew Blog to start! (Also check out my new watermark !! EEEEEEK!)

I went for somewhat of a mixed media look for this card! I die cut all of my pieces from white cardstock, and before removing them from the cardstock, I blended on my ink colors. I used the Martian Terrain range for the petals, and Green Fields inks for the leaves. I then adhered them all together with glue and set aside.

For my background, I used watercolor cardstock, and paired it with the Wonderful Wreath Stencil. I used embossing paste, mixed with a little of the green ink and smoothed it over the stencil using the brand new Mixed Media Palette Knife Set. When it dried, I spritzed with water and dropped in a little watercolor brush marker in greens (from the Tropical Fiesta set).

For a little shimmer, I spritzed Frosty Pink Metallic Shimmer spray, before the panel was dry and then left the panel to dry naturally. I then arranged my orchid over the panel using foam squares. I also added a few clear drops here and there for a dewy look.

The sentiment is stamped in Obsidian Black ink and is from the Wild Rose Build-A-Flower!
