Last Sunday La Palmera Lounge Bar in Orba held a Hog Roast with music by the OK Band, fund raising for the Royal British Legion Javea Branch.
We are grateful for the generosity of Claire, Darren & all their staff and everyone who attended the event.
A total of 1,228.32€ was raised last Sunday. In addition a further 334€ was donated to this year's Poppy Appeal by La Palmera Lounge Bar from collections given over the past 3 months.
Once
again a huge thanks to Claire and her team at La Palmera Lounge Bar in Orba, you are all greatly appreciated.
Our branch has been invited to have a presence at the Homes & Lifestyle Show on Friday 10th & Saturday 11th May at the Suitopia Sol y Mar Suites Hotel Avenida de Europa, 3, Calpe.
Volunteers and members of the committee will be at the show on both days with our stand raising awareness of the RBL and our branch.
It looks like a very interesting show and It would be lovely to see as many of our members as can attend.

Member Discounts
GREAT NEWS for fully paid up members is that ONE more business across the Marina Alta has joined the partnership initiative with RBL Javea. This brings the total so far to Twelve businesses supporting RBL Javea by offering discounts to our branch members.
In August 2023 we launched a partnership initiative across the Marina Alta with businesses offering discounts to RBL members. Remember to access any discounts offered your current RBL Membership Card will need to be shown.

The ENTERTAINERS
The Branch will be presenting an eveniing with The ENTERTAINERS, Thursday 26th September. Proceeds will go towards the 2024 Poppy Appeal.
We have 150 places in total on the evening and at present with sold and reserved tickets we are at a total of 78, hence my sending out this email to members again.
To reserve your tickets I ask that you send me an email to javea.secretary@rbl.community stating how many tickets and where possible the names of the people you wish to reserve a ticket for along with any seating requests, such as wanting a table of 8 for example.

D-Day 80 events
We will be marking the 80th anniversary with events in the UK, Normandy and Bayeux on 5 and 6 June 2024, as well as with community events around the UK.
We are inviting Normandy and WW2 veterans, families of the fallen, descendants of Normandy veterans, and members of the public to join us in commemorating D-Day 80.
