Here are 8 tasty recipes for your family to try. Each one makes enough for at least 4 adults, so enjoy any leftovers the next day or pop in the freezer for a quick meal another time. All the recipes are plant based with vegan options, but if you like you can easily add meat or fish.

Safety tips for cooking with children

  • Children should always be supervised by an adult when in the kitchen.
  • Wash hands before cooking and after touching raw meat.
  • Have a chat about safety from the start – decide what must be done by an adult and what the children’s tasks can be.
  • Keep children away from appliances.
  • Never hold a child while cooking or taking things out of the microwave.
  • Turn pot handles in to avoid little hands reaching up and have the pots on the back burners when possible.
