Hello from the Yarndale Team!

We hope you're well and enjoying the countdown to Christmas.

Our Hope Sheep has certainly been getting in the festive mood as you can see above.

I'm sure you agree that Hope is of great importance to everyone at the moment. We share with you the hope that 2021 will be a happy year that is kind to us all and that we're all able to meet again in person very soon.

Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone who entered our competition in conjunction with West Yorkshire Spinners to win a year's supply of West Yorkshire Spinners Signature Sock yarn (52 balls). We had some amazingly creative entries and we loved seeing your designs.

Richard Longbottom from WYS has now selected the overall winner and he was so impressed with the standard of the makes that he has also selected two runners-up who will both receive a ball of West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply.

So, without further ado, we are delighted to announce that the winner of the yarn is Julie-Anne Lowe who created these lovely socks below:

Richard was impressed by the fantastic use of Hope yarn. He said that it was 'a very interesting cable design which really shows off this special shade of signature 4ply' and he loved the addition of the green contrast which really made the design stand out.

The two designs to earn runner-up spots are:

Well done to Julie-Anne and the runners-up. We hope your enjoy your sock yarn.

Coming Soon - Our Yarndale@Home Talks

During our Yarndale@Home event, we held a series of interviews with some remarkable contributors including Martin Up North, Tatsiana Kupryianchyk and Christina Hadderingh. The sessions were all hosted by Matt from A Boy & Bunting Blog.

The feedback from these talks was very positive and we will be making the audio recordings available to you shortly. Please watch this space.

Craft Club Update

The first virtual making club organised by Yarndale and Great Place: Lakes and Dales in November was a great success, with lots of participants enjoying some social crafting.

The next session will take place on Thursday 17th December at 7pm and you're all invited. So b
ring a glass of wine, a cup of tea, a slice of cake or even all three and let’s share the joy of making, together.

To join, please sign up here. We look forward to seeing you there.

If you have any new creative makes or Christmas bunting designs you'd like to share with the Yarndale community, please do post them on our social media channels as we love to see them!

We'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

With best wishes,
Carole, Emma, Kate & Paul
