With almost a third of daily tests proving positive, the cases of coronavirus are getting out of control in Nepal and new lockdowns are in place. We will be providing food relief packages to the communities that cannot get support from the government mainly due to lack of citizenship.

Situation
The new Indian variant has reached Nepal now and at the moment almost a third of tests turn out positive. It is affecting young people and children, and is more transmissible than the previous variants. Many members of the communities that we are assisting in Southern Nepal do not have citizenship and do not qualify for any support from the government (and the relief is rarely available even for those that qualify). The lockdowns are leaving people with no income and no food as a result.
Solution
As we are one of very few organisations working in this area, we know the communities and their needs very well. We will deliver food and other necessities relief packages to those families that cannot survive with no income and no other support available to them.
