About this ebook

When Mel is set up on a blind date by her best friends Chris and Simon, she’s as anxious as any woman would be. Her divorce came as such a shock and she’d been feeling lost and lonely, but that didn’t mean she was desperate to date again. It was a terrible day at work that made her say yes: it could be a bit of fun, a distraction at least. What did she have to lose?

When Mel meets Malik, she knows instantly that they could have more than just a fling. She tells him her deepest, darkest secrets and it doesn’t make him run away. He makes her feel wanted for the first time in years, and when she wakes up in his bed in the early hours she feels completely content.

Until she notices that he’s no longer lying beside her.

She’s tangled up in his sheets alone in his bedroom and she can’t remember how she got there.

And then she hears the metallic scrape of a key in the door and realises that Malik has locked her in. Is her dream man going to turn into her worst nightmare?

Thrilling and gripping until the final page, Blind Date is a dark and unsettling story about deception and how much we can trust the people we love. For fans of Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and anything by Lisa Jewell.

Firstly, I loved, loved, loved that the main character, Mel, was a radio presenter. So many scenes took part in the creepy early hours at the radio station and they set my hairs pricking. I felt her isolation while working the graveyard shift and those bumps in the night would have had me running. The mystery itself had me guessing away as to who was behind everything, especially as her date was displaying some worrying behaviours. This is a story of obsession and betrayal that will suck you

"I have a confession" and that's "I LOVED THIS PHENOMENAL , GRIPPING BOOK". I raced through it, it consumed me in it's pages. Mel the protagonist, certainly get's herself into some deep situations, which she only just manages to escape. She lives with her ex-husband which is weird in itself, then she meets Malik, a weird, dark character who she lusts after, until he starts locking her in his bedroom. She gets weird telephone calls from Natalie when she host the "True Confessions" radio show and she sort of becomes obsessed because she wants to help her. Her two co-host Simon and Chris are her best friends, but they have secrets of their own and when all the twists are finally revealed it comes to a shocking conclusion which left me gobsmacked. It's has a brilliant plot and the characters are relatable, even though a couple of them are rather strange. Wendy certainly knows how to keep the reader turning the pages and she puts the twists in at the right moment. I loved every page, every character and I can't wait to read Wendy's next book because this one in my opinion is her best yet. It's a stunning, deliciously dark, ominous read and gave me chills. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO WENDY CLARKE FOR WRITING A PSYCHOLOGICAL, TWISTY BOOK WHICH HOOKS YOU FROM THE START. LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!. I owe a huge THANK YOU to NetGally and Bookouture for the ARC, I really appreciate it.

“You’ve never seen him before… But he’s seen you…” A slow burning, creepy and intense psychological thriller, Blind Date is one book that gave me the absolute chills and made the hairs on my arms stand on end. It is unnerving and dark, and with the tension and suspense just dripping off the pages, makes for a thrilling and gripping read. I always enjoy Wendy Clarke’s books and Blind Date is no exception. Well researched, plotted and executed, I really enjoyed its parts durning its late night setting, incorporating our leads graveyard shift as a radio DJ, that added to its overall ambiance and sinister tone. You are not sure who you can trust, as each character has something to hide and although I didn’t really connect with them, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. All up Blind Date is an entertaining read and I eagerly look forward to Wendy’s next release.
