Hampstead Jazz Club and Lateralize Records proudly present An Evening of New Jazz Fireworks hosted by Jazz FM’s Nigel Williams.

This unique concert features a mouth-watering line-up of some of the coolest names in contemporary British jazz including guitarist Chris Standring from Los Angeles, accompanied by Geoff Gascoyne on bass and a string orchestra, performing the Vinyl version of his new album ‘Wonderful World’. Singer/songwriter Jo Harrop will perform her debut original album ‘The Heart Wants’. Pianist Paul Edis will perform his solo album in full and finally, Hampstead Jazz Club’s favourite artists will perform tracks from the album ‘British Standard Time’ released on the evening featuring the vocals of Tony Momrelle and Carroll Thompson.

NB. Please note the start time.

Chris Standring – Wonderful World
One of the world’s most virtuosic jazz guitarists, Chris Standring will be performing a selection of ageless Great American Songbook numbers from his forthcoming Wonderful World album alongside his trio and orchestra. Although you can hear echoes of George Benson and Grant Green in his playing, his mellifluous sound is utterly unmistakable.

Line-up:
Chris Standring – guitar
Geoff Gascoyne – bass/orchestra conductor
Sebastiaan de Krom – drums

Jo Harrop – The Heart Wants
Jo Harrop has a chocolate and cream croon that can melt the hardest of hearts. Described by the legendary Iggy Pop as “a very fine jazz singer”, she has just released The Heart Wants, her first album of original material.

Line-up:
Jo Harrop – vocals
Geoff Gascoyne – bass
Sebastiaan de Krom – drums
Paul Edis – piano/MD
Jamie McCredie – guitar
Andy Davies – trumpet
Accompanied by string orchestra

Paul Edis – The Still Point Of The Turning World
Blurring the boundaries between Bill Evans, Brad Mehldau and Claude Debussy, The Still Point Of The Turning World is an achingly beautiful, impressionistic record that wells up from places Wordsworth deemed `too deep for tears.’

Line-up:
Paul Edis – solo piano

Hampstead Jazz Club Presents British Standard Time
Musical Director, Alex Webb, presents a perfectly mixed cocktail of timeless songs performed by some of the UK’s finest singers featuring Queen Of Lovers Rock, Carroll Thompson and former Incognito vocalist, Tony Momrelle.
