Tax Semi Senior

The role:  

We are looking for a Semi Senior to join our expanding tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and driven candidate. The position offers excellent prospects for progression and ongoing career development. You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete tax compliance engagements.  

Main responsibilities:  

• assisting in the management of a mixed portfolio of clients  

• working as a member of the tax compliance team, your main responsibility will be to draft income tax and corporation tax computations and returns in accordance with Irish tax legislation and company law requirements.  

• providing timely and accurate information to clients on ongoing tax issues  

• identifying tax planning opportunities  

• research in relation to client taxation issues  

• conducting tax audits on client premises  

• various ad hoc duties and responsibilities as directed by management  

 

Skills and attributes:  

• part-qualified AITI, ACCA or ACA  

• a minimum of a second class honours, grade 1 (i.e. 2.1) primary degree  

• 1-2 years’ experience working in practice. This may suit someone with experience working in a smaller practice looking to specialise in tax  

• computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel  

• a good understanding and knowledge of personal tax and relevant legislation  

• a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills  

• confidence in dealing with people and strong client-facing skills  

• self-starter with ability to use initiative and to prioritise with excellent time management skills  

• good attention to detail
