Japan has reopened to international travel, and all border measures relating to COVID-19 were lifted as of April 29, 2023. However, in order to have a safer and more enjoyable visit to Tokyo, it is important to know what to do if something unexpected happens.
This page collects information from the Japanese Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government regarding COVID-19, as well as measures taken against the virus by various local businesses and institutions, and also a few requests to travelers visiting Tokyo. Planning a Visit to Japan

As of April 29, 2023, it is no longer necessary to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of testing negative for the virus when entering Japan.
