Brazilian funk originated in Rio's favelas in the 70s and has always been tainted with many prejudices; the music and its artists are accused of glorifying drugs and violence as well as sexism. The film sheds light on the female perspective of this male-dominated music scene. It is about the everyday life of five female protagonists who work as DJanes, dancers, singers and agents. They talk about their experiences and the constant pressure to prove themselves.
