The Queensgate - behind Raytheon - will reopen to traffic on Monday as work progresses with Glenrothes Energy Network.

All businesses in the area are open as normal with sign-posted diversions in place to direct traffic. From Monday 26 November the section of road from the Asda roundabout to Castleblair Business Centre will reopen. Fullerton Road from the rear of Lidl to Castleblair Business Centre will remain closed until 21 December. Access to businesses is via the Queensgate – Morrisons’ entrance.

The work on Leslie Road is due to finish early December. From Monday 3 December work will start at Morrisons’ roundabout. Temporary traffic lights will be used to control the traffic and this work will last for up to one week. To minimise disruption for road users this work will be carried out at night, from 7.30pm to 6am.

Ross Tulloch, Glenrothes Energy Network programme manager said: “Work installing Glenrothes Energy Network is nearing completion. We’d like to thank the local businesses and road users for their patience as we carry out these essential works.

“We’re working with the contractor to minimise disruption and to progress works as quickly as possible.

“All businesses in the area are open as usual and people should follow the sign-posted diversions via the Queensgate.”

Glenrothes Energy Network is a £24 million collaborative local heat scheme. It will provide sustainable low carbon heat to a mix of industrial, commercial, community and domestic properties in Glenrothes as well as the Fife House complex.
