BSMS Medical Design and Illustration Conference 2018

BSMS Medical Design & Illustration Society are excited to announce our first event of the year – the National ‘Anatomy, Design & Education Conference’ 2018! Art & design meets medicine in this innovative project bringing together the best in the field to educate, innovate and inspire.  The day includes talks from renowned experts such as Dr. Sarah Clifford and Catherine Sulzmann who will share their passion for medical design and how this shapes their work. The talks will integrate with a variety of exciting workshops ranging from facial reconstruction to 3D printed anatomical models, for you to put into practise the techniques and tools you meet throughout the day. The conference provides an ideal occasion to network with professionals from the field and gain advice about various career paths.  Throughout the day there will be opportunities to purchase merchandise featuring artwork designed by medical students at Brighton & Sussex Medical school. All proceeds will go towards the ‘Naya Qadam Trust’, a non-profit organisation that makes a difference in the developing world by designing & providing free prosthetics. That’s not all! The conference runs in conjunction with the Society’s Autumn art competition. Submit your work to [email protected] for a chance to win. Top 3 finalists will receive a share of £150 worth of CASS Art supplies, conference award certificate and will be invited to have their work displayed at the BSMS medical school building. On completion of event, all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
