Maren Morris Breaks Down The Meaning of “GIRL”

Since it was released just two weeks ago, Maren Morris' empowering new single, “GIRL,” has been climbing Billboard’s country music charts and has received more than 3 million streams on Spotify alone. Morris co-wrote the song with Sarah Aarons and Greg Kurstin while Morris was struggling through a disagreement with a friend. As she explained in the newest episode of Verified, Morris looked inward to examine her own insecurities while writing the song and ultimately crafted a poignant anthem about self acceptance.
