The Spatial Data on the Web Best Practices exist to aid in publishing spatial data on the web in ways that are discoverable, accessible and interoperable for non-specialist and specialist users alike.

Our overarching goal is to enable spatial data to be integrated within the wider Web of data; providing standard patterns and solutions that help solve these problems.

The key focus areas currently are encouraging adoption of the best practices and documenting exemplars of these to further aid in this.

Five implementation reports have been compiled explaining how the SDW Best Practices have been implemented. An implementation report template is provided here.
