Alderney Bird Observatory, Helen climbs Ben Nevis

I am Helen McGregor, Chairman of the Alderney Bird Observatory and the Observatory has just lost some significant financial support. The States of Alderney - our government - have decided to revoke our tenancy agreement on The Nunnery as they wish more island charities to benefit from it than just us. We need to rent alternative premises as our HQ and establish a ringingroom elsewhere on the island. I hope to complete the ascent of Ben Nevis during the last week of June to raise funds to ensure the essential scientific work of the Observatory can continue uninterrupted
