Description

We cordially invite you to join us for the debate, ‘Politicians, economists and the public debate: Gove Vs Portes’ on Wednesday 15 March at 7pm at Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Rt Hon Michael Gove MP remarked, during the EU referendum campaign, that the country has “had enough of experts from organisations with acronyms saying that they know what is best and getting it consistently wrong”.

Jonathan Portes, The UK in a Changing Europe senior fellow, wrote we were not getting a ‘mature debate on Brexit’ from Michael Gove (Guardian).

This resulted in a vigorous twitter argument between the two culminating in a challenge from Gove to Portes to debate the issues in public.

Broadcaster and columnist Julia Hartley-Brewer will moderate the discussion and there will be time for questions from the audience.

The event is strictly invitation only.

Please note that tickets are not confirmed. We will send an email prior to the event confirming your place. We reserve the right to withdraw tickets at any time without prior notice.
