My Story

The Rainbow Trust is a wonderful charity which provides practical and emotional support 24/7 to families with a life-threatened child.   The charity's family support workers help these families navigate what can be very dark times indeed. reaching out with tailored support to help all family members cope and find a new normal.

The Charity has recently opened a new branch in Swallowfield and is now providing this vital support across the Thames Valley area.   We Shinfield and Swallowfield ringers (and you can see a few of us in our profile picture) are keen to demonstrate our support for this wonderful charity and are therefore ringing for one hour at each church on Sunday, 26th November for 3 reasons.

Firstly, we want to welcome the Rainbow Trust at the heart of our communities.  Secondly we want to remember all children across our parishes and the Thames Valley who are suffering from, or who have passed away from terminal illness.  And thirdly we want to help raise money for the Charity's "No family Alone" appeal so that more families can benefit from this vital support despite all the economic challenges the charity is currently facing.   The Rainbow Trust has secured match-funding which means that every £1 you are able to donate will be worth £2.00 to the charity.

We would be so grateful if you could make a contribution over the course of the appeal (noon on Friday 24th November to noon on Monday 27th November)  so that no family with a life-threatened child has to cope alone.  Thank you so much for your generosity.
