Summary
This security update resolves a remote code execution vulnerability if the Microsoft Office Access Connectivity Engine incorrectly handles objects in memory. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2019-0748.
Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 installed on the computer.
Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2010. It doesn't apply to the Office 2010Â Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see Determining your Office version).
Improvements and fixes
This update adds the ability to use the new Japan era in Access 2010 when it is available.
