Useful information ahead of your visit

Address:

It will be pretty hard not to spot the Luminarium as you approach, but just in case, it can be found on Chesterfield Road Park, NG19 7BH. Our what3words location is rider.page.double.

The money bit:

Tickets are £3. Children under 2 and carers are free but still need to book tickets to guarantee their entry. Carers must register as Essential Companions via the Box Office on 01623 463133.

Don’t be late to the party:

Ticket holders must arrive ten minutes before the time indicated on their ticket. This is a self-guided experience; please allow approximately 20 minutes to immerse yourself fully in it.

Pre-booking a ticket entitles the ticket holder to enter a priority lane at the time specified on the ticket. If pre-sales are fully sold out, visitors can still join the on-the-door tickets line onsite for on the door tickets. At busy times, queues may be expected of up to forty minutes.

Everyone’s welcome:

The Luminarium is fully accessible for wheelchairs, which will be given priority entry. The experience is suitable for all ages so get the whole gang together. Prams and pushchairs must be left outside and children under 16 will only be admitted with an accompanying adult (a minimum of 1 adult per 4 children).

Dress the part:

We know it will be April, but it’s also England, so please layer your clothes and consider bringing hats, waterproofs, wellies, gloves and scarves, sunglasses and umbrellas. Don’t forget the sun cream!

Shoes must be removed to enter the Luminarium so wear your best socks! These and any other possessions are left in the reception area at the owner’s risk.

Think drink:

Hydration is key to any fun event. We have food vendors on site to help keep you fed and watered, but you can bring your own too. They do accept card, but as we are on a park, we cannot guarantee internet connectivity and recommend bringing cash along just in case.

Four legged friends:
The park is dog friendly, but animals are not permitted inside the Luminarium as they won’t feel comfortable in this environment. If you decide to bring your furry friend, please be aware they will have to stay on the main park and please remember to pick up and bin their poop. Assistance dogs also have to stay outside, but staff will be on hand to guide those with additional needs through the experience.

Safety first:
First Aiders will be on site at all times but let’s hope you won’t need them. We also have a lost child point, so upon entering the event, visit our tent for a wristband that you can write your contact number on for your child to wear to give you extra peace of mind.

Don’t get caught short:

We have toilets including accessible ones and a Changing Places on the park to use for free during this event.

Getting here:

We would advise attendees to travel by foot, public transport or cycle to the event if possible as parking is limited, however we do have accessible parking spaces and limited parking in the Civic Centre car park. Several bus routes including the Pronto and number 23 service pass the park, plus there are many car parks a short walk away in the town centre: https://www.mansfield.gov.uk/parking.

Mind your step:
This is a park, filled with nature and the fun quirks that come with it, so if you go off the path, there may be uneven ground and even the odd tree root, so please watch out for tripping hazards.

Don’t be a litter lout:
Lots of wildlife lives and grows in our park and we are very proud of our Green Flag award for it, so please hold on to your litter and take it home, or put it in one of the bins provided.

Once you have attended this event, don't forget to fill in our event survey here (opens in a new window).
