11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain(A) in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”(B)
Then a great and powerful wind(C) tore the mountains apart and shattered(D) the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire,(E) but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.(F)

—Sal y preséntate ante mí en la montaña, porque estoy a punto de pasar por allí.
Mientras estaba allí, el Señor pasó y vino un viento recio, tan violento que partió las montañas y destrozó las rocas, pero el Señor no estaba en el viento. Después del viento hubo un terremoto, pero el Señor tampoco estaba en el terremoto. 12 Tras el terremoto vino un fuego, pero el Señor tampoco estaba en el fuego. Y después del fuego vino un suave murmullo.

11 فَقَالَ اللهُ لِإيلِيَّا: «اخرُجْ وَقِفْ عَلَى الجَبَلِ أمَامِي. وَسَأمُرُّ مِنْ جَانِبِكَ.» فَخرَجَ وَوَقَفَ عَلَى الجَبَلِ. فَمَرَّ اللهُ مَعَ هُبُوبِ رِيحٍ قَوِيَّةٍ. فَشَقَّتِ الرِّيحُ الجَبَلَ، وَكَسَّرَتِ الصُّخُورَ أمَامَ اللهِ. لَكِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي الرِّيحِ. وَبَعْدَ تِلْكَ الرِّيحِ، حَدَثَ زَلْزَالٌ، لَكِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي الزَّلزَالِ. 12 وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الزَّلزَالِ ظَهَرَتْ نَارٌ، لَكِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي النَّارِ. وَبَعْدَ تِلْكَ النَّارِ كَانَ هُنَاكَ صَوْتٌ هَادِئٌ رَقِيقٌ.

11 तब यहोवा ने एलिय्याह से कहा, “जाओ, मेरे सामने पर्वत पर खड़े होओ। मैं तुम्हारे बगल से निकलूँगा।”[a] तब एक प्रचंड आँधी चली। आँधी ने पर्वतों को तोड़ गिराया। इसने यहोवा के सामने विशाल चट्टानों को तोड़ डाला। किन्तु वह आँधी यहोवा नहीं था। उस आँधी के बाद भूकम्प आया। किन्तु वह भूकम्प यहोवा नहीं था। 12 भूकम्प के बाद वहाँ अग्नि थी। किन्तु वह आग यहोवा नहीं थी। आग के बाद वहाँ एक शान्त और मद्धिम स्वर सुनाई पड़ा।
