Uncover a new art exhibition for 2024, featuring a range of motoring-related pieces from some of the country's most creative and talented automotive artists and sculptors.
Britain is very lucky to boast an incredible community of artists who take their inspiration from the motoring world, from everyday cars to the heroes of motorsport. There is such a wide array of styles and media, capturing cars and their drivers in almost every era and situation.
In a second collaboration with Historic Car Art, the British Motor Museum has brought together a collection of work from nineteen incredible automotive artists and sculptors from across the UK to display in the Exhibition Hall.
The Gallery showcases a range of leading artists, including Simon Britnell, Kate Alger, Neil Collins, Emma Capener and John Ketchell who work with a variety of media including acrylics, oil, watercolour, pen and pastels. Alongside these evocative paintings, Jonny Ambrose and Chris Twitchell are among those talented sculptors who are bringing their unique, head-turning works to the exhibition, artwork created in wood and in bronze.
Are you an aspiring young artist with a passion for automotive art? We're thrilled to announce a unique opportunity to celebrate the opening of our new exhibition, 'The Gallery'. This exclusive competition gives young artists like you the chance to showcase their work at the British Motor Museum. There are three age categories for entry:
- Under 11s
- 11-16 years
- 17-25 years
The winning artworks, selected by a panel of esteemed judges, who will feature in 'The Gallery' exhibition, will be displayed in the Museum from Friday 26 July 2024. The winner of each age category will also receive £50 worth of art vouchers.
Judges include: Artists John Ketchell and Kate Alger alongside Rupert Whyte, Historic Car Art and Stephen Laing, Head of Collections at the British Motor Museum.

Historic Car Art has been operating from its rural Derbyshire base since 2004. It has been built over time from a passion for art, cars, automotive history and the racing exploits of drivers and manufacturers combined with a great interest in how this has all been depicted over the years in both artwork and promotional advertising. This approach means that Historic Car Art is now a leader in the acquisition and supply of original automotive art and vintage posters, building collections for discerning private and corporate clients worldwide.

The Gallery will be open every day, from 29 April until 30 June 2024.
