CFA Institute Names Andrew Rome, JD, as Chief People Officer

Rome to lead the People and Culture team, providing strategic leadership to critical functions such as talent acquisition, employee relations, and culture

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, has named Andrew Rome, JD, as Chief People Officer. Rome will oversee the People and Culture team at CFA Institute, reporting directly to Margaret Franklin, CFA, President and CEO of CFA Institute, and will be based in Charlottesville, VA.

“I am thrilled to name Andrew as Chief People Officer,” said Margaret Franklin. “I am confident that he will be able to leverage his deep knowledge of our organization to our employees’ benefit, continuing to cultivate the culture that defines who we are at CFA Institute.”

Rome has served as the interim Chief People Officer since May 2022 and prior to this appointment held various leadership roles within the human resources function at CFA Institute. He has served the organization for more than a decade, having established a proven track record of trusted service as it relates to employee engagement strategy, development of policies and programs, as well as expertise in employment law.

Prior to CFA Institute, Rome worked as Counsel at Media General, Associate Attorney at Williams Mullen, and Judicial Law Clerk at the Circuit Court of Virginia.

Rome earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. In addition, he holds various certifications, including the SHRM SCP (Senior Certified Professional) Certification from the Society for Human Resource Management, and a Brain-Based Coaching Certificate from the NeuroLeadership Institute in New York.
