Developers Proposing to Submit Planning Application in January

Hey everybody

Many thanks to all those who signed this petition 2 years ago, which helped deter the planning application then and protected this corner of Burgess Park with its precious wildlife site.

However, the developer is trying to build this development again but with an additional storey (!) and told us last week they plan to submit the planning application in January.

The coloured 7 storey and 4 storey blocks at entrance to park on Southampton Way are a screen shot from the developers proposals.

The over-shadowing in daytime and  artifical lighting would destroy the adjacent wildlife site, which the land is scheduled to be incorporated into.

So please start sharing the petition again.

The more who sign it, the better chance we have of protecting this protected part of Burgess Park's Metropolitan Open Land and persuade the council to fulfill its pledge to incorporate it finally into the park, after over 40 years waiting for it.
