Bioabundance is very disappointed to report that at Thursday’s oral hearing a second judge refused permission to take the case against SODC and Sec of State to Statutory Review. It seems things are against us but we are considering whether to appeal the decision.

Bioabundance has one hour in the Planning Court on Thursday 29th April 2021 at 2pm. We aim to convince the judge that our case against the government and the council should go to the High Court. Dear Supporters,

On 29th April, there will be a court hearing of our case. This will be a one-hour discussion between our barristers, those from South Oxfordshire District Council and a judge only on the arguability of our case.

Our solicitor says: "This permission stage of proceedings is meant to knock out claims which are not arguable, ie. hopeless". Our legal team remain confident that our case is clearly arguable and should go to a full hearing.

Members of the public are allowed to view proceedings which are likely to be online. .

The time will only be published by the Court the day before. Once this is known we will post an update on this site with any appropriate link to access the event.

Huge thanks to everyone that has been kind enough to donate toward our action against South Oxfordshire District Council.

Our initial target of £10,000 has now been achieved and this will cover the initial fees of filing with the court, preparing the claim with supporting documents and also to demonstrate to the court that we have funds to contribute to the defendants’ costs if we lose.

We are now focussing on a stretch target of £25,000 which is needed to see the case through the courts. This is for legal fees to cover pre-hearings and for representation in court to hear a statutory appeal. We have a great legal team from Leigh Day and Landmark working at a significant discount.

Please do share our campaign as widely as you can to try and ensure South Oxfordshire only builds the houses it needs rather than destroy countryside unnecessarily.
