Description

Join us as we stumble out of hibernation into the spring light and ask 'where are the queer/ LGBT places?'. Laura Marshall from UCL Urban Laboratory will talk about whether in 2018 we still need queer spaces and what can be done to promote and protect them. Kindly hosted by Savills, we are delighted to be joined by HouseProud (LGBT Housing network) to briefly discuss these topics, followed by drinks, canapes and networking.

This event follows on from HouseProud's recently launched report "There's No Place Like Home" on LGBT experiences in social housing and UCL Urban Laboratory's extensive research into the ongoing value of queer/ LGBT spaces and places. We expect this not just to be an informative and interesting event, but it will also provide some great networking opportunities between the housing and planning sectors.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Planning Out is an LGBT network for professionals in the town planning sector.

Planning Out has two key aims. Firstly it is a forum for professionals in the LGBT community to develop professional connections and friendships, learn best practice and share ideas from colleagues across the industry. Secondly our aim is to provide a forum to encourage LGBT professionals to be themselves and be authentic in the workplace and in their everyday lives so that they can fulfil their potential.

We welcome all people regardless of seniority, public, private, voluntary or academic sectors as well as those who are supportive of our cause. We also welcome professionals who are connected to the planning industry.
