EXCLUSIVE: Khloé Kardashian feels 'overwhelmed' for her daughter already but will 'filter all the negative BS out of her life'

Kylie went completely against the grain and has done things her way…

It was so strange because none of us were goth girls and Kylie was kind of rebelling. She wanted to experiment with makeup, but she wanted to do it her way. She would really play with eyeliner, she had a blonde streak - it was super interesting. I think my mom was freaking out because she is such a girly mom as she loved dressing us up in bows and along came Kylie who went completely against the grain, doing things her way. That’s what we love about Kylie; she always wants to experiment and do her own thing!

When Kylie gives you a critique, it is coming from a helpful place, she’s not trying to sabotage you in any way…

Kylie is very confident, makeup is totally her world. I have learnt a lot from her. I am older than Kylie and she would say from a young age, ‘you should really contour,’ or make me change certain products I was using – she just has such a great eye for other people’s faces. When Kylie gives you a critique, it is coming from a helpful place, she’s not trying to sabotage you in any way. She wants to pass on her knowledge on how to apply makeup. When we collaborated, it was super easy for her and I to work together. We respect each other in our certain fields and I think that is crucial for working with any one.

Kylie is so hands on – I respect her so much…

Kylie is super hands-on and I am really hands-on. I didn’t realise how hands-on she would actually be, until we worked together, and I super respect her for that. She knows her customer base so well, she knows the formulas and the applicators that work best. She is very opinionated, even though I would think something was the perfect red she would say, "I am not sure it could do with a little blue in it." She’s not going to put out a product that she doesn’t fully love. She stands by her products 100 per cent – even though she has so many moving parts going on, she’s not going to let something go through without her approval and her going over every single detail.

The reason why Kylie Cosmetics gets better and better is because if you slap your name on something, and people know it’s easy to get things past the ‘name’, you won’t have standout products. As a family, we only put our names to things that we stand by and we believe in. I don’t think people realise how much stuff we have to keep our eyes on - we never cut any corners. Kylie has done an incredible job of that. Yes, that’s more time-consuming but we want to be putting great products out into the world of great quality.

What Kylie has achieved at such a young age is inspirational to any young girl, that any insecurity they have can be turned into a beautiful thing…

There isn’t one moment where I have felt prouder of Kylie than another - it is really surreal just seeing Kylie evolve. Kylie had taken this idea from an insecurity she had with her lips - that she would say was a negative - to such a positive place. I am so proud of her for having this vision as a teenager and still she is 21-years-old and she has built this amazing empire all from Lip Kits. It’s motivational to see how hard she works at 21 whilst juggling having a baby and a family, whilst also being a young woman. I can’t even imagine having that level of responsibility at her age and that is what makes me proud of her every single day.

We motivate each other and if one sister is succeeding, it just makes us hungrier and we get so motivated and so happy for that sister too…

A million per cent, without my sisters and my family, none of this would be possible. We have the best support system and I remember when we started out people would ask us, "are you jealous of each other?" People think we are pulling their arms when we say, "no." We are never jealous of each other, we motivate each other and if one sister is succeeding, it just makes us hungrier and we get so motivated and so happy for that sister, too. It’s a very healthy, motivation we have with one another. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders so if there is something you individually find negative, as you will, we try to build the other sister up and be that boost of confidence that person needs.

Even though social media is a huge part of our lives me and my sisters, we make sure to check in mentally with each other so the comments never get toxic…

I know that social media is a gift and a curse. But we control our own social media and I want the women out there to know that you have your own power and don’t give your power away. What I mean by that is: you are painting a picture of yourself to the world with these snapshots in time that are going to live forever.

In twenty years, people will still be able to look these images up and you need to be careful and think about your future. You may be say, thirteen years old now but one day, you are going to have someone to answer to, be that your boss or your children. You always want to be comfortable with what you are putting out there about yourself. Always be careful, always think twice before putting something out there and make sure it’s something you are proud of. Also, give other people room to experiment and allow yourself to realise, ‘I don’t want to be so risqué,’ or whatever.

It’s such a blessing to have the social media access but we can’t make it so much of our lives. We have to be careful to disconnect and have our sanity. I think that’s what we are so good at, me and my sisters, even though social media is a huge part of our lives, we make sure to check in mentally with each other, so the comments never get toxic. Sometimes you have to just turn those comments off and post your pictures.

Now I have a daughter and my sisters have children, I do think, “gosh, in ten years, what is going to be next?" I feel a bit overwhelmed for my daughter already, gosh all the things I am going to have to control and filter out of her life, all the negative BS that you and I didn’t have to deal with at those fundamental evolving ages, and that’s something I worry about. But for Kendall and Kylie, they have done such a great job and I feel really good about the way they have grown.

Being pregnant at the same time as Kylie was the best thing ever…

Never in a million years did I think that Kylie and I would be pregnant together at the same time. Honestly, it’s the best thing ever because she was three months ahead of me so every time she would feel something, she would tell me about it and if I felt a certain way, I could tell her about it because she had gone through it a couple of months before me. It was so special and even now having Chicago, Stormi and True be cousins so close together in age is the coolest thing ever and I hope they grow up almost like triplets.
