Carrie grew up in Tasmania, Australia but spent her youth living in Melbourne, Japan and England. She has travelled to 46 countries to date, and kept a travel journal for every single one.

Carrie started doing this when, just before her first travelling experience at age 18, family members gave her an empty notebook to use as a travel journal. Carrie found she loved writing about what she was seeing and experiencing so much that she filled the notebook in only 3 weeks. She bought more notebooks, and just kept going.

I write non-fiction memoirs, so it's my own memories I'm getting lost in and they help me to deal with any less-good things that are happening now. My first book helped get me through my brother's death, and my second helped get me through the onset of Omicron around the world.(less)

This doesn't mean don't appreciate your readers, because readers are lovely people who can be really encouraging to you! But it's better to have just a few readers who really appreciate your style than to spend days and years tearing your hair out over marketing and so on. Write for you. Write for what it can do for you. If you manage to succeed at marketing and get hundreds of thousands of readers, good for you, but if not, that's ok. You will have still created something and grown by it.(less)

What a page turner! Two kind people go on a nearly impossible quest in which they can't achieve anything without the help of two, to put it politely, "eccentric" men. You never know what will happen next!
