Kate Rudd
Biography
Ms Kate Rudd was the Department for International Trade’s West Africa Trade Director based in Lagos, Nigeria covering the coastal countries from Senegal to Gabon. Previously Ms Rudd was Her Majesty’s Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Sudan from March 2015 to July 2017, and from June to August 2015 she was Chargé d’affaires.
After studying English Literature at Strathclyde University, and completing a MSc in International Business at Birkbeck College, University of London, Ms Rudd worked as an English teacher in Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme. She worked in the private sector in London on her return before joining the Foreign Office in 2003. Her roles have largely focused on the Arab and Islamic world in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
Katharine Elmes Rudd is married to Gordon Elmes Rudd.
