Technology Watch

The Technology Watch function was established by the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau in response to WTSA Resolution 22 (Rev. 2004), and formalized through WTSA Resolution 66 (2008, Rev. 2012) to survey emerging information and communication technologies and how they can be included within the ITU-T work programme.

Technology Watch Reports were intended to provide up-to-date assessments of new technologies in language accessible to non-specialists. Further, the reports assessed the impact of new technologies both on developed and developing countries, analysed relevant standardization activities, with a view to identifying areas for new work in ITU-T.

Resolution 66 was suppressed by WTSA-20.
