However, these feelings can be difficult to manage, especially for a child💔 But, with the right support, children can learn how to manage their stress and regain a feeling of calmness. Together with child experts and psychologists we've developed a guide to help you calm and rebuild a child's feeling of safety when they are worried❤️ Save and share these tips, you never know when or who might need them! #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

Thank you Prince Harry and Meghan for joining us in Nigeria to learn more about how we ensure children don’t just survive but thrive ❤️ The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met our Youth Ambassadors Maryam and Purity, who are tireless advocates for children's rights and the beating heart of our work. Children in Nigeria face huge challenges: 🔴 One in ten dies before they reach the age of 5. 🔴 Three in ten girls are married before the age of 18. 🔴 Nigeria also has one of the highest rates of unimmunised children. But young people are working hard alongside Save the Children to fight for a better future. We have partnered with GSK to develop new immunisation programmes, as well as a fund to support local organisations and innovators, and child-led advocacy. "We won’t stop. Every one of us has a role to play – via advocacy, our voices, financial support, volunteering. We hope to see a positive change and better future for Nigeria." - Purity, Save the Children Youth Ambassador Thank you to our amazing Global Ambassador Misan Harriman for making this meeting happen!

  • Children in Gaza are paying the heaviest price for the ongoing violence ⚠ They are being killed and maimed and are suffering horrific physical injuries, with little option for medical care or treatment. Lara*, a two-year-old girl, is just one of the thousands of children who have been injured by Israeli airstrikes in the last 7 months of war. Children have a special status in conflict, specific vulnerabilities, and distinct rights and obligations owed to them. They must be protected. We need an immediate and definitive #CeasefireNow. • In Rafah, chaos is everywhere. Forcibly displacing civilians into areas that can't accommodate them is a humanitarian catastrophe on an entirely new level. There is nothing safe about these relocation orders and there is nothing humanitarian about this Israeli-designated “humanitarian zone" There is no space left in #Gaza and no safety anywhere. But families have no options left – they are trapped. We need an immediate and definitive #CeasefireNow. Rachael Cummings, our Gaza Team Leader reports👇 #Rafah #displacement

  • Happy Mothers Day to all mums!❤️ The world is in a very precarious state right now. Wars, climate disasters and the higher cost of living are making it harder for families and children to thrive. Despite this, mothers globally continue to fight every day to give their children the best chance at life💪 They go far and beyond to ensure they are loved, healthy, safe and have the education all child deserves⭐ We will continue to work hard to ensure all mothers have the essentials they need to protect and raise their children. #MothersDay

  • All you need to know about what is happening in #Gaza right now⬇️ ⬇️ ⚠️Israeli forces ordered thousands of people to flee parts of Rafah on the 6th May. ⚠️Over a million people, 600,000 of them children, are now at risk of forced displacement without enough food, water or shelter. ⚠️The takeover by Israeli forces of the #Rafah crossing has meant that no aid has entered Gaza since Sunday 5th May. This blocking of aid is putting children's lives at risk. As a result of this increase in violence and blocking of aid, the lives of one million children hang in the balance. Israeli forces must halt, not expand, operations in Rafah and must open all available land crossings to allow aid to enter. #CeasefireNow

  • Over 1 million people in #Rafah, half of them children, have been ordered to flee to unsafe areas⚠️ They haven't got enough food, water or shelter, and are facing unimaginable horrors. All States must act now to protect civilians and prevent atrocity crimes in Rafah. Now more than ever we need an immediate, definitive #CeasefireNow. There is so much more that can and must be done to save children’s lives in #Gaza.

We hoped this day would never come. Israeli forces issued relocation orders demanding civilians in eastern Rafah to flee to the Israeli-designated so-called ‘humanitarian zone’ in Al-Mawasi.  The announced incursion will not only risk the lives of over 600,000 children but will at best disrupt and at worst cause the collapse of the humanitarian aid response currently struggling to keep #Gaza’s population alive.  Forcibly displacing people from Rafah while further disrupting the aid response will likely seal the fate of many children. We call on all States to act now to protect civilians and prevent atrocity crimes in #Rafah.  Full statement ➡ https://lnkd.in/eWpPG6cE
