While he didn't come close to winning Love Island, Dr Alex George is tipped to become one of the most financially successful stars of this year's line-up.

An insider had claimed the dishy doc had been offered the chance to front a nationwide government STI campaign for a six figure sum.

However, Public Health England have denied the reports and said they hadn't discussed details of their sexual health campaign with the reality star to date.

In a statement to Mirror Online, they said “Public Health England have not offered any sum of money to Dr Alex George for working with us on any of our campaigns, and have not discussed any detail of our Protect Against STI campaign with him to date.”

It comes as 27-year-old Alex is tipped to become one of the biggest earners of this year's show.

A source told The Sun: "Dani and Jack won the series but Dr Alex may yet prove to be the biggest winner of all. "

Since leaving the villa with Alexandra Cane, Alex signed up with a celebrity management company.

He's also been rumoured to be swapping his A&E day job for a regular presenting spot on This Morning.

Doctor Love, who was a fan favourite during his time in the villa, is being lined up to join the ranks of Dr Hilary Jones, Dr Chris Steele, Dr Zoe Williams and Dr Ranj Singh.

ITV bosses were reportedly impressed with his interview on the daytime show last week and are looking to fulfil his dream of becoming a TV doctor.

During his chat on This Morning this week, Alex confessed he didn't go into the show for the money but took "drastic measures" to find a girlfriend.

Alex revealed to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that he is planning to go back to working in a hospital - 'when the time is right.'

"I definitely want to go back to A&E when the time is right."
