Welcome to Childnet International's Thrive Online survey.

Childnet International is an independent charity established to help make the internet a safe and enjoyable place for young people.

We are looking for parents or carers who have at least one child with special educational needs between the age of 11-17  who is a regular user of the internet, social media, or gaming to complete this survey.

Thrive Online aims to empower young people with SEND to build happy and healthy online relationships. The results of this survey will directly inform these new resources for educators, parents and young people. These resources will cover the topics of digital wellbeing, healthy relationships, and online pornography.

If you feel that answering questions about these issue would cause you any distress, please do not participate. If any distress or concerns arise during the survey please exit the survey. Details of further online safety support and contact details for Childnet are provided at the end.
Who can see my data and what will it be used for?
● The results of this survey may be used in research reports and to develop educational resources for educators, parents/carers and young people with special educational needs. Any quotes used will remain anonymous.

● Participation in this study is completely voluntary and all data is confidential. The data will be held on a secure password protected database for five years and only the project researchers will have access to it.

● All data will be stored and processed according to current Data Protection Legislation (i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation).

      
Can I change my mind about taking part?
● You can withdraw from this study at any point until the ‘done’ button has been clicked. If you choose to withdraw, do not click ‘done’ and simply close the browser window. After the survey has been submitted you will not be able to withdraw as all data is anonymous and individual responses cannot be identified.
