Scotland’s answer to Banksy cloaks his identity in massive pink bear costume when doing graffiti art

MEET Scotland’s answer to Banksy — the secretive graffiti artist who cloaks his identity in a massive pink bear costume.

Rebel Bear has decorated dozens of walls with installations and stencilled images including Donald Trump and Boris Johnson as babies.

The mysterious graffito works in the small hours to produce his creations then documents them on Instagram, where they rack up thousands of likes.

Now the anonymous artist is cashing in on his talent by selling copies of his images online.

Lucky shopper who bought vase for £1 in charity shop sells it for almost half a MILLION pounds

Speaking exclusively to The Scottish Sun on Sunday, he said: “Rebel Bear is the most bizarre character imaginable to mirror the bizarre nature of our society.

“His activities are not exactly legal — but luckily the bear is both stealthier and faster than he might appear.”

He admitted globally famous artist Banksy — whose work sells for millions — is “an inspiration”.

But he added: “The Bear feels he is on his own path. His goal is to inspire different patterns of thought and hopefully produce a smile.

“The themes cover politics, love and emotion and comment on the absurdity of the world.”

Rebel Bear’s art has popped up on walls, billboards, road signs, bus stops, statues and even a roundabout in Scotland, London and Calais, France.

A mural mocking BoJo, Trump and Kim Jong-un as chubby tots in nappies has appeared in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

In the work, Johnson sticks a crayon up his nose, US president Trump builds a wall out of Lego blocks and the North Korean tyrant plays with a toy missile.

Another stencilled piece shows the Queen and Pope wearing opposing Old Firm colours and enjoying a kickabout.

The work has been sprayed on walls near Rangers and Celtic’s grounds at Ibrox and Parkhead.

A piece on a wall in Glasgow’s West End depicts blindfolded former Prime Minister Theresa May being dragged along by a bulldog clad in a Union flag jacket — and also blindfolded.

Another shows Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg dressed as a magician hypnotising a punter with a swinging mobile phone.

Rebel Bear also produced an image of spear-toting caveman in suit jacket and furs, a reversal of Robert Doisneau’s iconic 1950 photo of a sailor and girl kissing, a Cupid doll smashing into a wall for Valentine’s Day and an elf polishing Santa’s boots as a comment on capitalism.

The artist has offered on the website grrrrr-inc.com to confirm any purchases are genuine.
