A cold is a mild viral infection of the nose, throat, sinuses and upper airways. It’s very common and usually clears up on its own within a week or two, according to the NHS. However, symptoms can be uncomfortable. Some research shows that exercise can strengthen our immune system, which may subsequently make us less susceptible to rhinoviruses, the most common culprit of a cold.
