The Big Help Out: Freemasons Urged to Volunteer in Local Communities

Posted:

Calling all Freemasons for the Big Help Out

Freemasonry places a great emphasis on helping those less fortunate than ourselves and supporting our local communities. To help achieve this aim, the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) is asking Freemasons to volunteer for The Big Help Out, a campaign to help improve our communities in commemoration of His Majesty the King's Coronation.

The Big Help Out is a not-for-profit fundraising campaign that promotes volunteering in the UK and provides people with opportunities to participate in and experience volunteering to create a positive impact in their communities. The initiative is open to everyone, and individuals or organisations can participate by joining or registering for an event. UGLE is backing The Big Help Out, along with some of the UK's leading volunteer organisations such as the Scouts and the Royal Voluntary Service.

How can you help?

To participate in this campaign visit the Big Help Out website. You'll be pleased to know that joining is incredibly simple as all you need to do is visit The Big Help Out webpage to find out what's happening in your local community. You can use the Big Help Out app, which is easy to navigate, to quickly locate events and opportunities that are taking place near you.

This initiative will kickstart on Monday 8th May. It is an exceptional chance for Freemasonry to become a national partner and engage with its army of 165,000 volunteers. This initiative not only reinforces our historic ties with the Royal Family, but it also presents an opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to aiding those less fortunate than ourselves and improving our local communities.

To this end, UGLE is inviting all our members to get involved in this initiative and lend a helping hand in their community. We urge our fellow Freemasons to join us in this noble cause.

If you are a Freemason and want to get involved or want more information please contact PR and marketing manager Livia Ferreira.

Tell us your stories

So we can spread the word about this campaign and inspire others to participate, some of the best stories will feature in Freemasonry Today. This will help showcase the tremendous efforts of our members and the positive impact we can make together.

We are also interested in hearing about your experience following your participation in the Big Help Out. Your feedback is highly valuable to us, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts with us.

Campaign overview

The Big Help Out initiative will bring together numerous organisations from across the country to provide everyone with the opportunity to contribute to our local communities. Starting from Monday 8th May, there will be thousands of ways for people to get involved, regardless of their skill level. You don't need to be a proficient litter-picker or an expert in DIY; there will be tasks suitable for all kinds of helping hands.

The greater the number of participants, the greater the impact we can create. Whether you can spare an hour, or a day, or make it a regular commitment, your involvement can make a significant difference.
