Notice: Anglian Pass for 2024

 

For consideration when renewing your Anglian Pass for 2024. Please note that an emergency closure is currently in effect at Salters Lode Lock due to siltation issues within the Great Ouse Tidal River between Salters Lode and Denver Locks. For details, refer to the MLC emergency closure notice.

Until the siltation matter is resolved, you may not be able to fully utilize your Anglian Pass. However, visits between the Great Ouse and Cam, as well as visits between the Nene and Middle Level, remain possible. For details,  please refer to the EA Navigation notices on this website.

Applying for the Anglian Pass (01 April  to 31 March )

 

Please allow plenty of time to apply for the Pass.  If you do not have a valid Pass when visiting any of the partner navigations, you may be subject to enforcement action on those waterways.

 

You must have one of the following valid annual boat registrations to apply for a Pass;

 

  • Environment Agency annual registration for Anglian Waterways covering the Nene & Great Ouse

  • Conservators of the River Cam annual registration

  • Middle Level Commissioners annual registration

  • Gold Licence through the Canal & River Trust

Phone:  When you receive your renewal documents, ask for the Anglian Pass to be added when you phone to renew your boat registration with us.

Post**:  On your renewal form, clearly write ‘ADD ANGLIAN PASS’ at the top of the page.  If sending a cheque, ensure your boat registration number is written on the reverse and write ‘INCLUDES PASS PAYMENT’.  If paying by Direct Debit, the Pass payment will be added to your DD payment plan.

 

Don’t worry if you forget to apply for the Pass when you renew, or decide to take up the offer later.  You can apply for the Pass at any point during the year.  Call our renewal line on 0330 159 1983*, complete and submit an application form on our website here , email a completed form to boatreg@environment-agency.gov.uk or post** your application to Environment Agency, Boat Registration, PO Box 544, Rotherham, S60 1BY.

 

If you are registering your boat with the Environment Agency for the first time, make sure you include an Anglian Pass application with your other boat registration application paperwork.

If you have never purchased an Anglian Pass you will need to complete and submit an application form on our website here , email a completed form to boatreg@environment-agency.gov.uk or post** your application to Environment Agency, Boat Registration, PO Box 544, Rotherham, S60 1BY.

 

If you have obtained a Pass previously you can contact us;

By phone - If you want to pay by credit or debit card please call us on 0330 159 1983* (Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm). You will need:

  • Your boat registration number

  • Confirmation you have an annual registration with as defined above

 

By post – Please send a covering letter and cheque made payable to ‘Environment Agency’ to us at: Environment Agency, Boat Registration, PO Box 544, Rotherham, S60 1BY, including the following information:

  • Your name and address

  • Your boat registration number and boat name

  • Confirmation you have an annual registration as defined above

 

 

* Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.  These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.

 

** Please note, there will likely be significant delays in processing any applications sent by post, due to current pandemic working restrictions.  We strongly suggest you call (existing Environment Agency customers only) or email us to ensure you receive your Pass before you intend to use it.
